Linux Or Windows

What do you consider to be the better linux or xp/vista,
My self i will say windows as i have small experiance of linux and windows certainly has a freindly interface (not alway found on linux distros)

Saying that i gather that linux has much better network features for running the likes of servers and so on

I currently run an Vista server on my LAN with apache and all is good.
I am looking to set up a file/proxy server and want to know what path is best (bearing in mind i am not an advance user, but do have networking knowledge) , and can anybody tell me how do do this : i want the network systems that pass through the server to go to a custom site rather than their homepage, is this possible to do from the server or must it be done on the systems???

As for your question, you can try to use IP based redirection on Apache.

I would go for Linux, even I was apprehensive at first, but when get to know the ocean of things that you can do with Linux, you will feel Windows crumbling before your eyes.

The exact same way how i was, lol, the exact same reason i prefer Linux =P
