I used to love KDE 3.2....

But now using Gnome 2.8 and ...wow....

Weird how a die-hard KDE fan switched to a die-hard Gnome fan overnight ! :)

So....which Desktop Environment do YOU use on ur linux box?

I've always used KDE with a Splash of Gnome. I haven't used Gnome 2.x that much though cause most of my distros are out of date. I need to have a look.

Download the distro you like, and use a program like Nero or Alcohol120% to burn the image to CD, stick it in the CD drive, check the bios that its set to boot from CD rom, and you're good to go!

Gnome... I don't know what version, and I don't feel like checking now.

I use Gnome its more stable equal to KDE but i used allot times KDE but it dousnt work right for me it has more buttens and bells and wisles i dont need.

Gnome has less bells and wissles and almost every thing i need has gnome with out the bells and wissles.

I use KDE in SuSE 10.2. I just started a few weeks ago and I am impressed at all of the little graphic tricks. I've used Windows since '95 and am trying to open up my world. I have a dual boot on my 30gb laptop and a 160gb USB external hard drive. It works well this way, but I have somehow made it that the boot thing (I'm new to this) is on the usb drive instead of my laptop drive, so I have to take the hard drive with me whereever I go b/c my laptop won't boot to anything without the hard drive being plugged in.

KDE. Not sure about the version, but I've installed Kubuntu 7.04. I've tried gnome and although I like it, I prefer the bells and wissles of kde ;)
