The term "best" is certainly subjective based on individual preferences. Mac suits my needs best, but another platform may suit your needs better.

Well played, however I wouldn't quickly dismiss Windows like that. Sure there were past problems with Microsoft OS, but if you have ever used Windows 7 you can't deny the fact that it's the best OS Microsoft has produced.

Are you going to so quickly dismiss Linux, when its market share grows and the focus of developing malicious code shifts towards Linux based systems more? Linux isn't 100% secure, neither is Windows or Mac. No OS is 100% secure.

This.

Also @OP, I have never heard anyone say that OS X Leopard is better than Snow Leopard. OS X is probably one of the only OSes where every updated is better than the last and everyone agrees.

Hmmm. Most of the issues I've seen people having with that, have had tons of programs in startup, and tons of background programs running eating up RAM/CPU. My Win7 boots up in less than 40 seconds from cold boot. At idle, it uses 750MB of 4GB RAM (that is with Aero theme activated), and uses 0% CPU. I have all the programs I ever use burned onto a backup DVD to make it easier to install them all. You can customize Windows 7 pretty much the same with Linux, you can use docks, change color schemes, etc.. Also if you fancy it, you can have a wallpaper slideshow also.

Looking to find something else to move to. Hate the new ubuntu's change.

I've downgraded back to 10.10 as 11.04 Unity has really stopped liking my hardware and lags worse than my brain when I wake up in the morning.

Maybe check out Linux Mint? It's a derivative of Ubuntu and I don't think the Mint edition comparable to 11.04 runs Unity.
