login password not working on control panel is it different?

i thought i read that the password on acct is same for control panel. i entered password and username as detailed in acct info page. but when password entered it says its a Fail. i went back to password update to make sure i put in correct as it does not allow you to change it without knowing the old. However, i typed in same password as did in control panel and worked in password change page but not accepted on control panel. There is no where on control panel to tell it to send new one. If is different than one I chose I never received control panel psswd. Please send.

It's possible that you actually have the username wrong, not the password - Your cPanel username is not the same as your account panel username (The account panel uses your email address, while cPanel uses an actual username.)

When you log into your account panel - https://x10hosting.com/control/ - There will be a yellow box on the upper right, as shown in the red box in this screen shot (Note: this red box will not exist on your end - It was added to the screen shot. Also, I blacked out certain information for personal security.)

The second row, that says 'Free Hosting - username' will contain your cPanel username after the word 'username'

Alternatively, you can also access your cPanel by clicking 'View Details' in this box, and then 'Login to cPanel':
