mail() disabled inspite of Intermediate PHP version

Hi,
I am unable to set up my wordpress blog due to following error

Warning: getmypid() has been disabled for security reasons in /home/drakhil/public_html/blog/wp-includes/class-phpass.php on line 52

My PHP version is INTERMEDIATE still i am getting the error.
I requested the PHP upgrade during the time of my account creation on 14th sept.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
