Reseller accounts are interesting things to run down and check out. However some host make it hard to develop a site for this purpose and I can say Byethost is like this. As you work along thinking you can do this with their free hosting they begin to play games with you with database time out notices and other bothersome events. All of which they serve you a little ad to upgrade and rid yourself of these troubles. Well thankfully I have not had such experiences here and love x10hosting"s way of doing things which I have to say is better than Byethost or 000webhost.
Why I write these threads is via a comment made by someone elsewhere in this forum about a reseller program. My observation is that you do not have to have a reseller program since if you start a site here you can use it to develop a domain for that purpose if you move onto a Premium account as you work along. Of course you can start out using a free hosting account until you have your web site built and all of the text and graphics in place. Which can take weeks to a few months of work editing. And so you will not immediately launch the business; hence starting off with a free hosting account gives you time to work on your site before you officially publish it via Google Analytics (which places it in the search engine if you did not know that, thinking you have to do allot of SEO stuff well you do but Google Analytics is the first stop). Anyways it takes awhile just to write your site up and get it ready.
Now a few folk who want Premium hosting accounts with unlimited features are interested in reselling domains and administering web sites as a webmaster and host. Not too many need allot of unlimited stuff other than forum, Ecommerce and social network owners. And so you have to have a plan. And one neglected plan is to sell space to people who know how to use Wordpress and other CMS scripts but do not want to delve into Cpanel administration of their site and would prefer to leave that up to a webmaster or domain administrator. And it might seem funny to some but some people have not come that far along into learning how to operate the various realms of the web such as a hosting account with Cpanel and access to such things as databases and PHP tables etc. Hence between two kinds of accounts Basic and Premium one can offer up to 5 kinds of hosting packages. 1. Personal websites 2. Small Business 3 Faith based community packages 4. Township and County Wide Community Portal Packages 5. Reseller Accounts. The first four being set up for either a Basic or Premium Account while the Reseller Account is strictly Premium although the Reseller can begin to plan their site with a free hosting account and then upgrade.
Using the right CMS script for a site you can have Accounts with Ordering via a Store and Shopping Cart along with Affiliate accounts and Reseller Accounts. So I have followed this kind of vision however it is still in editorial development. But the bottom line point here is a new kind of vision on how one might be able to sell hosting space. And as you know if we can do this then we can upgrade our accounts here at x10 to make this profitable for everyone all the way around.
