Hello,
There's a site www.mastergoogle.com
They do free seo stuff for you, but they require my ftp address, PLUS username and password... i dunno.
Anyone used them before? Are they legit?
Can I even allow them access to my x10 site? seems like i remember that was against the tos?
thanks for any info.

the site seems very suspicious.
I can't find any form of privacy policy, or any documents like a tos, eula, aup, or any other legal binding contract.
If your referring to the Free SEO, i would not trust that either.

also if you wanna know if somethings against the TOS, you can just reread it :p

[edit]
also i didn't see anything relating to the ftp, but you can't give your cpanel login away, so create an ftp user in cpanel and give them that if you really want to try it.

There's a BBB Accredited Business on the bottom right but I still don't trust this kind of sites.

I'll set up a present for them here at home on my home server and let them mess away with it. I'll get back to this topic once they access it.

Hmm i woder whats in that server? BOOM!
Ya seems kinda shady and their promises are impossable to keep. You cant keep your site at the top of google unless its popular.

google uses a system that makes it impossible to so that, unless of course you spent allot of money, so the $1000 a month almost seems reasonable. I would guess though that the keywords they bump up have to be less common.

I bet though that you could spend $500 on an advertisement budget and get 10x the traffic

Nope, no bombs. Just an actual website inside of a sandbox to let them mess around with to see what they do to it. Given their BBB report and the lack of negative words on them on the Internet they do sound legitimate, but you can never be too sure I suppose. But if anyone wants to give them a shot, the only thing they are looking for is an FTP address. If you create an FTP account for them that gives them access to only public_html that should be fine. They won't have access to cPanel or Webmail. Afterwards if you think they might have done something malicious, you can look over your site's code. It's a first come first serve basis with 30 sites a month so my sandbox may or may not get chosen.
