?messages disabled?

In my control panel (.../evo/user/ssl/server), I have a message indicator.
Clicking on the indicator brings up a message window:
"Feature Disabled
This feature has been disabled. Please, contact your administrator. "

Can the feature be enabled? Or can the message be received a different way?

That feature is disabled as intended.

please remove the (multiple) messages that I cannot read, and remove the option from my dashboard.

Please at least clear the 13 messages on my dashboard that I cannot read.
According to mrburnsx the messages feature is disabled, so can the feature be removed from the dashboard?
Also the message count is increasing, so something is trying to tell me something (but I cannot find out what it is because "the feature is disabled as intended").
If the feature is disabled, but cannot actually be removed, then at least clear out the message counter, or mark them read (I cannot, because "the feature is disabled as intended").
Hoping my frustration is appreciated, and hoping its a simple fix.
