Hello,

I've some questions about the VPS provided by x10hosting;

1 - How does it cost an additional IP/month?
2 - What is the guaranteed up time (including downtime and maintenance) ?
3 - Do you provide the options to upgrade anytime (paying difference) and downgrade (after billing cycle)?
4 - About the backups you provide. does it stored in the same node machine as the VPS or it's stored elsewhere (backup in the case of data lose)?
5 - Do you provide reverse DNS?
6 - Do you provide OS template any-time-install (reset OS, change OS any time) feature?
7 - Do you provide root access to the linux shell using ssh...?
8- Do you guaranteed a min processing portion for each VPS or it's shared between VPSs of the same machine without control?
9 - How many VPS is hosted on 1 machine for each VPS plan?

finally I suggest those answers to be displayed on the VPS plans page, as all good hosting companies do provide those essential information in plans details.

Many Thanks.

1: i believe its $2/month
2: not sure, i think 99.9%(my vps has 110 days uptime right now)
3: most likely, you just need to open a ticket
4: ?
5: yes, open a ticket(though that may have changed)
6: yes
7: yes its your machine, you can do "Anything" other than mess with the kernel and kernel libraries, as there isn't any to mess with.
8: yes, its specified with the package Fair Share CPU (600Mhz Guaranteed, 1200Mhz, 2400Mhz)
9: it depends on the types of packages, but you will get whats guaranteed with the package.

I can answer some of those questions.

Additional IP's are $1.00 per month.
I don't think there is any guaranteed up time - I am sure somebody will quickly correct me if I am wrong. I can say that over the last year my VPS has never actually gone down due any X10 related problem - and that includes Control Panel upgrades and migration.
I upgraded my VPS plan in the middle of a billing cycle with the appropriate adjustment added to my next bill. Went very smoothly.
You will be managing your own DNS including Reverse DNS.
You will choose your own operating system through the control panel after your VPS is setup and you have the option to change it anytime you wish.
There are no additional fees of any kind except for additional IP's and CPanel if you wish to have that.
You will have root access.
Do not recollect the answers to (8) and (9) even though I am sure I was told one time.
After signing up X10 will give you a VPS Control Panel where you will select your OS and go from there, setting up all aspects of the server as you please within limits of TOS and AUP. Keep in mind the VPS Service is completely unmanaged and X10 will not provide any support unless something breaks on their end, which is very, very rare.

Finally, I would like to state that I have been extremely pleased with my VPS service. Over the last year I have been very happy with the performance of the hardware, (everything else is under my control), and I have experienced zero down time. Your mileage may vary. But this is my personal experience.

When you reach the order page you will have the option to pay monthly, quarterly, semi annually or annually and the monthly price is lower depending on which option you select.

buy 12 months and pay for only 10.

I also payed $1 / mo for extra IP so $10 year

SSH is available via the Web GUI for your VPS but as already mentioned openSSL is standard to every OS available so you can connect directly to your vps straight away.

Then it is up to you to install other servers / configure to suite your needs and if you want to start all over again you can install a fresh OS from a selection that are preconfigured and available.

Re-Install Virtual Server
If you need to restore this virtual server to a clean state, you can reload it with a clean installation from here (the Web GUI). You can also change the OS that is installed. This operation will irreversibly destroy all data currently on the virtual server - please ensure you have backed up anything you need beforehand.

CentOS 4 32bit

CentOS 5 32bit
CentOS is an Enterprise-class Linux Distribution derived from sources freely provided to the public by a prominent North American Enterprise Linux vendor. CentOS conforms fully with the upstream vendors redistribution policy and aims to be 100% binary compatible. (CentOS mainly changes packages to remove upstream vendor branding and artwork.) CentOS is free.

CentOS 5 32bit cPanel Template
A cPanel license must be purchased in order to use this template.

CentOS 5 32bit VNC GUI
Template comes with VNC preinstalled. Start VNC server by typing 'vncserver' and connecting to it via your VPS IP:1. For example 127.0.0.1:1 Default password is 'x10vps'.

CentOS 5 LXAdmin
This template comes preinstalled with LXAKloxo.

Debian 5 32bit

Fedora 10 32bit

Fedora 12 32bit

Ubuntu 9.04 32bit

Ubuntu 9.10 Minimal

You can also backup, reboot, shutdown, change hostname and a few other things via the Web GUI but everything can be done via SSH anyway.
