I am trying to set up a WordPress site for a client. The problem is that I am unable to create a database for my site because I lack all MySQL privileges. I get 'access denied' errors every time I attempt to create a database. There is no root account I can use to fix this.

The error: #1044 - Access denied for user 'webtech2'@'localhost' to database 'webtech'

Is there a specific hack for fixing this? I really appreciate anyone's help on this. Thanks.

Hi webtech2,

To setup WordPress, you will need to create your MySQL database through your cPanel. Please go to "Databases" at the top, and then create a new MySQL database and MySQL user for WordPress. :)

Thank you,

It worked! All I had to do was use webtech2_wp1 as the database name. Thanks for your advice!
