Im not sure if you'd like to try this, i've tried it before but some things are slightly hard on it.

It's free to play and download. You'll roughly have same benifits of the people who pay. The people who pay can buy extra items (You'll be able to buy them with Marbles (Game Currency)) and faster way of getting it. They can also buy armour and such but the best free armour isn't too far of the best paid armour.

The game is Luminary (Also known as GoonZu). Im not sure if you've tried it but you can play it; Visit http://ijji.com/ . And register for an account. Once registered you'll also be able to play a whole lot of games (Which are pretty great). But you want Luminary, so visit http://luminary.ijji.com/ and click "Direct Download File" below "Play Live". The download is about 618.0MB.

Once downloaded and installed click "Play Live". If your planning on clicking "Play Live" with FireFox you'll need a plug in which can be downloaded from the main ijji site. http://ijji.com/ . It's on the right hand side of the page below your "Avatar".

Once downloaded, you can now click "Play Live" under FireFox.

I'd say it's better to launch off FireFox because if you do it under Internet Explorer (IE) it'll pop up a message saying "This is the first time you're here. Please download the ..... " I can't remeber all of it but it's something like that. You'll have to install that to run your game. But under FireFox you won't need to.

Some suggestions (Google them, I'm not fetching the links for you ;))

Hero Online
FlyFF
Maplestory (the only thing that the Cash Shop does is give you a better style, no item improvements or anything)
Silkroad Online
Rappelz
Rakion (though probably not an mmo, very fun to play nonetheless)

Perfect World is really good. and HellGateLondon is free but the subscription gets bonus's like the new expansions that come out, but it's still a great game that i've played a cpl hundred hours on, without the subsciprtion.

Hero Online isnt bad, SRO lags too much, Rappelz is decent. RF Online is pretty good too, gets really good at 40+

As Psoewish suggested Maple Story and Silkroad, Maple Story is quite addicting if you enjoy 2d games. 2D? What crap. Nah.. I told my friends who love GuildWars about Maplestory, now they are always playing Maple Story. There are several servers -> channels to choose from - very little lag.

I tried Silkroad with my pal, ended up having a blast - but it's extremely laggy.

A good free memorpegger would be MapleStory, though you can also try Ragnarok Online.

Stick Arena (Not really an RPG, but an MMO Flash Action game with stick figures, pretty good.)
WoW (Not free, but a really good MMO.)
RuneScape (If you like being called a noob on a regular basis.)
Tribal Wars (May not be animated, but cool and easy to learn.)
