mod_security hi i understand tht the x10 servers may have mod_security instaled but i would like to disable it by adding this to my htaccess file
Code:
<IfModule mod_security.c>
   # Turn off mod_security filtering. SMF is a big boy, it doesn't need its hands held.
   SecFilterEngine Off

   # The below probably isn't needed, but better safe than sorry.
   SecFilterScanPOST Off
</IfModule>

Is that ok with you guys, pleae let me ive been getting forbidden errors on the stupidest things and after doing reaserch on them i found this to be the main reason tht this happens
Edit:
If i dont recive a reply in 2 minutes im gona try it out, and im not sure by when i will check forums again
Edit:
I am still geting some issues when i go to smf adminstration- feature and options- option i cannot change anything i keep geting this error
Code:
403 Forbidden[B]Forbidden[/B]

 You don't have permission to access /index.php on this server.
 Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
   Apache Server at dubanime.co.cc Port 80

I think it may be cuz of case sensitivity and the above code i posted is not appropriatley set, please let me know how i can fix it

According to the mod_security website, the setting you're talking about doesn't exist. If you find out another setting you want to change, look at the documentation here:

http://www.modsecurity.org/document...che/2.5.12/modsecurity2-apache-reference.html

search for the setting, and look at where it says "Scope: XXXX". If the scope is "Any" then you have full permission to change what you want. If the scope is something else, say "Main" then you cannot change it and if you try, you will get a 500 server error.

Check the permissions on your files and folders. Files should be 644 and folder 755 unless the software author says otherwise.
