Hi. (aio1155.x10.mx)

I logged into my webserver, and I started to upload a few screenshots into my forums area. After about 5 minutes waiting for the post to be saved I suddenly received a page saying that the sql database has become disconnected.

I tried to go back to my webpage, and I received the "Your Hosting Account is Suspended" with some advertising.

I know for a fact that I have nothing installed which would even put a small dent in the servers resources, or even make someone think I have abused the server in any way. My website is TOS compliant in every way.

So what now?

Forgive me if I sound annoyed about this... I hope this can be cleared up.

Thank you.

From the logs:
Sat 05 Feb 2011 09:48:10 / 1296917290:
cpu: 34.000
mem: 0.500
ctm: 00:00:00
commands: (1 total)
SCRIPT_URI=http://aio1155.x10.mx/index.php
HTTP_REFERER=http://aio1155.x10.mx/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=post&do=new&catid=15&Itemid=83

At that point your account were using 34% of one CPU, limit is 25% (during a limited timeperiod). There's a few more entries that are between 25 and 30%, which means they are still over the limits, but not by much.

High resource usage suspension are normally solvable through your account panel, I have unsuspended the account for you though.

Hello Anna, and thank you for the quick reply.

I would have to say that the server itself is in error. One, I was the only one on the server at the time, and two I was only uploading screenshots into my forum area. I have nothing which is running in the background, and there are no CRON jobs even created under my account. The Chat is hosted off site, and the A.I is also hosted off site. I do not host any files on my website because all files which can be downloaded are hosted offsite.

So what caused this resource problem? Like I have mentioned in my post I have nothing which would even be put a load on the servers resources.

So please, look at the server because the server is having problems, and I know that I have received 1 of 3 warnings for simply uploading a few screenshots. I can't believe that uploading anything would cause a server resource problem.

Also, before I started uploading the screenshots the server was acting sluggish (slow).

Anyway I just thought I would let you know...

Cheers, and take care.

Hi again.(running Joomla 1.5x / Kunena 1.6.2)

One more question.

Would Community Builder cause a resource problem? If it does, I will disable it because I really don't wish to lose my account with you folks.

That is about one of the only things I have running which would make me think that this could cause a problem...maybe.

Those screenshots, would they be uploaded in batch or one by one? And would they need some server side processing, like resizing, creating thumbnails?

If you have had the community builder on for a while without it causing trouble, I doubt that would be the problem in this case.

You would not lose the account over resource usage, unless it ends up sitting as suspended for more then 14 days, in which case it would be removed by the automated process which clears out unused, suspended, accounts periodically. Worst thing that could happen is you need a staff representative to unsuspend the account for you.

Our free hosting servers have a very strict resource usage limit, simply because there's so many users that shares the resources, and to avoid problems that affect other users (if a few users are allowed to use all resources, the rest won't get any and would have nonworking sites).
Premium hosting allows for about double the resources and does not have an automated suspension process.

Hello Anna, as always thank you.

1. That is great news about not losing my account, I was really worried there.
2. Actually it was a batch upload (I posted 10 screenshots). So if this is what has caused this, what is in your opinion the most that one person can upload? Would 5 in batch be good?

Thank you again Anna for the help. :)
