Hi,

My website is http://jdaniels.x10hosting.com/
As you can see when you submit the form the formmail script comes up rather than actually working. Can someone help me work out what I'm doing wrong.
This hosting solution supports php so I know it should work.

Thanks

J

Hey jdaniels,

I might be off the ball here as I am not a php developer, but ASP. With ASP this would normally happen when you do not have the right "features" installed, for example an ASP server.

Now, I did see that all accounts start out with a basic php configuration which has a large variety of things disabled. Have you configured your php support under your account? Goto http://x10hosting.com/account and scroll to the bottom and have a look.

Sorry, but further more I can't help you unless if I sit down, do some research and work with the script myself.

Kind regards

P.S: If you still cant come right, and no one here can help you, let me know and I will set aside some time to figure it out for you.

By the looks of it, this is a error occuring because you have the basic version of php, as hypercss said, login to http://x10hosting.com/account and down the bottom left when you scroll down, it has your PHP version, upgrade it to intermediate if it's at basic, you will get an email saying your request is in process, after your request has been accepted, you will recieve an email later on saying when the upgrade has been completed, this may take up to 12 hours after you request the upgrade, so be patient...Once you recieve the email, try the page again, and see if it works.

If your PHP is already at intermediate configuration, please let me know and i will look into it more.

Hi,
The links you have sent do not work. I am not sure what yu mean when scrolling down on the left.

Do you mean click on the phpadmin wthin cpanel or somewhere else. This somewhere else I can't find, which means I can't change what you are referring to and see if it works.

Sorry for being so incomptent but you may need to spell this out for me.

Thanks

J

No problem, okay...Here steps:

1. Login at this webpage: http://www.x10hosting.com/login Using your forums account username and password.

2. Once logged in, you should be redirected to http://www.x10hosting.com/account Once there, scroll down the page, and you will see your PHP status, it will say "Basic PHP- Current Version" "Intermediate PHP" and "Advanced PHP" Or something similar, you need to click in the circle for intermediate php and click upgrade account, to upgrade the php version, once you have done this, the process can take up to 12 hours to complete, you will recieve 2 emails, one saying your request was accepted, and one saying when your account with intermediate php is active.

3. Wait a little while and then once your account is upgraded, try the website and see if it works.

If you need any more help just ask.

The chances that the php upgrade will fix the error are 98%. The other 2% states that it's a code error. :p

The upgrade script generally runs every 6 hours. It can take up to 12 though.

Jdaniels -- The index.html file works for me, what error are you seeing?
