For a lack of a better name...
This is where I plan to put things that I make. For now, there is only a WIP game on there.

Feedback on the site and design are welcome. I'm not looking for feedback on the game at the moment, but you're free to try it out.

I don't think you could get more basic than how you have your main page setup.

As a player who at one time was addicted to Rogue and rogue like games, I have to tell you, if the player cant survive or even defeat a rat, you need to change the attack/defense algorithms to help your character last past the first encounter. You might consider the player find a weapon in the first or second room, or possibly a shield. Yours is the first version of rogue that I've ever played where I encountered a dragon on the first level.

Not every room has to contain a monster, a room can be empty (one empty room in 3 or 4 is a good ratio), contain an object, that's a clue, tool, decoration, ammo of some kind (mostly arrows), a secret door, trap, scroll or something along one wall that the player must read or reveals an entry to a hidden room.

Like your main page says, it's a start, and I'll visit it once in a while to see how things are progressing. Oh, and until the player can actually defeat first level monsters, try and not have then appear in a doorway as you enter a room.

Good luck with your project.

How is it possible for so little content to still not pass validation? Leaving that aside, I'm a fan of clean-cut appearance. You should probably give it some visual emphasis though. The way it looks right now bears a striking resemblance to what is commonly referred to as a text-desert. Removing colours and underline indicators from links is totally unacceptable -- unless you expect every visitor to try-and-error guessing around.

@phclausx - What, precisely are you using as a "validator"? The only thing that could actually be considered an error on this site is a missing language attribute on the HTML element (meaning that the user agent default controls). Everything else comes under WCAG/WAI; it's perfectly valid HTML 5 with accessibility problems. (The same applies to all of your validation rants here.)

Excuse me, it must have slipped my attention that making a simply comment would fall under /ranting/

You may want to have a look at https://validator.w3.org/unicorn/ch...=(detect automatically)&ucn_task=conformance#
or if you prefer at https://validator.w3.org/nu/?doc=http://tilded.x10.mx

Unless you consider the W3 a bunch of dummies, it's the very place where standards come from.
And in case you're interested, below links refer to my own sources:

https://validator.w3.org/unicorn/ch...=(detect automatically)&ucn_task=conformance#

https://validator.w3.org/nu/?doc=http://phclaus.eu.org

WAVE http://wave.webaim.org/report#/http://phclaus.eu.org
ACChecker http://achecker.ca/checker/index.php - just enter my site's URL

Finally, /perfectly valid HTML5/ seems a bit off, don't you agree? The current status for HTML5 is recommendation, meaning it's a long way from what would be an official standard. Toying around with HTML5 may be fun for the masses of mark-up illiterate, but certainly not for someone interested in producing _valid_ sources.

That all said, I dare once more apologise for having obviously trespassed the boundaries of common sense. Rest assured, I have no need to repeat the same error twice. Regards.

Thanks for the feedback! The errant noscript has been removed.
@ken.gervais89 It's true that the game is obtuse and confusing; the combat system is experimental. The help screen and attack animations might help you understand what's going on.
