My suspension.

This morning I very foolishly moved files for a proxy page over and inevitably had my account permanently suspended. The first thing I would like to point out is that I sincerely did not intend to use the proxy for anything malicious. I was simply testing it out. I am aware that is irrelevant as it breeches policy but I would like to let you know that it was a silly mistake and there was no bad intentions behind it.

I've been told that my account will be permanently suspended. As much as I would love to carry on using x10 for the site, if this is the case and nothing can be ammended then I fully accept that. What I would hope you would consider would be for me to at least retrieve my files so I can move them elsewhere, as I (also foolishly) did not have them backed up.

I meant absolutely no harm with the breech, I am aware it goes against the policies and I accept that. I hope you can understand and possibly cut me a break, I would be massively grateful. All other times I actively made sure not to breech the policies but this one time I missed something in the t&c. I apologize.

I really hope I hear back from a moderator.

Yes,we don't allow any type of access to the suspended account nor any backups for this type of suspension

Permanent Suspensions mean access to the account has been completely revoked and cannot be reinstated for any reason including providing backups. This isn't something we can override.

What if I upgraded the account to paid. Would I still have no access to my files?

As you can imagine this is massively inconvenient. The files are still on your server, all I want to do is retrieve them. I've accepted the fact that I cannot use x10 services anymore.

This is ridiculous. It's not as though I've uploaded porn, or even abused the services.

As far as I'm aware, because x10premium doesn't allow proxies either, we can't get to the files.

I can understand it's inconvenient, but the reason it's Zero Tolerance is we can't distinguish who did it by accident or who did it on purpose. We're getting massive amounts of abuse daily, and can't give second chances anymore - it takes too much time and effort to make sure people follow the rules as it is without having to do double-checks and make sure people remove the stuff after getting unsuspended.

As for not abusing the services, that may be, but it -is- still covered explicitly in our TOS as not being allowed for any reason.

How can it be possible that nobody can get to the files? I'm pretty certain that isn't the case, otherwise you'd have tonnes of wasted space on your server from suspended accounts.

How can I appeal this suspension to have it lifted OR just to have access to my files (that is all I want)?

I expected alot more of x10.

You've already appealed to have it unsuspended or to get backups. You've been told by two separate paragons (me and vishal2) that you can't -get- backups.

Here's why. The only way to get backups is to actually unsuspend the account, which we can't do since proxies are a zero tolerance permanent suspension. That's what's causing the problem - it's one thing to be suspended for inactivity on the forums and need a backup, cause then we just pop the suspension and voila. When it's a permanent suspension, we can't remove it.



Edit: Forgot to add as well, the hosting account in question isn't actually linked to your forum username, which will complicate things further. Even if we -could- get backups, we can't find the account in question :/

I know, because my other username was also banned off the forums by carl6969 for some unknown reason, so I've had to log in with this one. You can find the account in question because I have all the details.

As far as your other forum account, I located it: ppssyycchhe27, and it's not banned.



Edit: Seems this was actually one my own automated scanner caught as well. It even saved a snapshot of what it was suspending you for - phproxy.

So you're telling me that's it then? Even though my files are on your server still accessible x10 is completely denying me access to them? Full stop? Even though I've willingly accepted I've ACCIDENTALLY breeched policy and have accepted the suspension procedure, explained thoroughly what's happened, and also apologized?

I'd just like to know if you're actually telling me I have absolutely no hope whatsoever in getting my files back. Please confirm this

That is correct. There is no hope for getting the files back, ESPECIALLY because of one extremely small but massively important detail.


My scanner only scans what's actually being ran on the servers. The index file for phpproxy was hit 5 times before it had you suspended. An accidental upload can get erased right away, but it's a bit of a different beast when you're saying it's accidental but it was actually being -used-.

I hope all x10 users read this thread and are aware how unsafe their files are, and how much irrational disregard the 'staff' have for it's users.

Closing ticket. The system is perfectly safe for those who actually follow the TOS, and we do regard our users highly. We suspend the ones who can't follow the terms of service because otherwise we'd have 100 accounts running proxies and running the server into the ground. How do I know that?

Because when this proxy plague started, that's -exactly- what happened.
