This page has 14 external Javascript scripts, 5 external stylesheets and 37 external background images. Try combining images with CSS sprites.
If you are using wordpress,you can have the plugin to combine and compress javascripts separately and css separately.
FIne concept for the site.

I am using a wordpress template called the Dawn. I purchased it for $50 from themeforest The slider is bundled with same template
