I am getting the error message:

#1153 - Got a packet bigger than 'max_allowed_packet' bytes.
I've been trying to upload a database backup and it is apparently too large for the upload.

In one of the locked threads I found, it said that the packet allowance had to be increased. Would that be possible for me because I am totally unfamiliar with any other scripting that might be necessary to go about this in a back door kind of way.

Thank you for your assistance in advance.

Oh...and my site is: minutes.elementfx.com

Upload the MySQL backup to your root directory, and tell us to which database you want it restored.
I'll restore your MySQL backup via SSH.

great. I uploaded it and I need it to be put into the mtm_forum database please.

also, in case I ever have to upload another back up, is there any other way that I can go about doing that so that I don't have to keep bothering people?

If the backup is smaller, you can do it through phpmyadmin.
If you get that error it needs to be done with the root account.

OK that works.

So if I ever have a larger one, I can just ask someone here to do that on the root account?

and thank you very much for your help.

Thank you.

So now if I delete the other stuff that you didn't just send over, that should restore everything to the back up right?

Nevermind. I realized what I had to do. Thanks again for all the help everyone.
