Mysql Connection: Access Denied

I am trying to install RBS (Reverse Bidding system script).

I have to enter these details in the script installation:

Base URL:
*
Host Name:
*
User Name:
*
Password:
*
Database Name:
*

I created a user for mysql with a password.
When I put those user details in the above script configuration input, It says Access denied for "user@lotus.x10hosting.com" .
I have tried swapping the username to my hosting account username and password too which results in the same error.

Help is greatly appreciated.

Hi,
For all database operations,generally the following procedure is followed
1.Create database
2.Create user
3.Give the user all permissions to control database --> Add user to database
The 3rd point is where I suspect if you have done or not.
And the following are the details
Hostname : "localhost" (with out the quotes
Username : the one you have just added.
Password : your password that you set for that user.
Database name : the database table shows what exactly is your database name.The general format is yourloginname_databasename.

Just check the databases and copy paste the user name and database name.Check whether an additional space character is being added after you paste.
Most importantly you have to add the user to the database and only then everything could work.
