Mysql help

What is the address to mysql databases and wat port? I'm developing a program in java and its login system will store usernames in the database so i need to know the port and address for which it needs to connect.
I've already added %.%.%.% to the remote hosts. also tell me if that will work for allowing everyone to add to a table

I believe the port for MySQL is 3306
Your username and password are ones that you will have to create through cPanel if you haven't already.

yes the host name would be localhost if I was tryin to connect with something that is on my site like smf but I'm wanting my program to be able to connect from anywhere and be able to add to a table on the database. so wat would the host-name be? it is a desktop application i'm making btw

Probably you are trying to connect remotely?

Remote MySql is not enabled on free accounts.
