MySQL Not connecting

Hi,

No PHP script is able to connect to MySQL. I've checked, double checked, created from scratch MySQL database and users, but its just not connecting. Following is the message I get:

Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (111) in /home/vish91/public_html/mcs/bizentry/register.php on line 9

Stoli is having some known issues with MySQL at the moment. Staff are aware of it.
