Need help with 404 Error

Hello,
Im just starting and Im kinda a noob at this put I want to upload my own file to my site but I forget how and when I think I have it the right way I get this error

Not Found
The requested URL / was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Could someone please help me? I uploaded what I wanted to be my home page under public_html

Welcome to x10Hosting! The "public_html" file should actually be a folder, which needs to contain your website files (HTML, CSS, images, etc). It looks like your HTML file had replaced "public_html", whereas it only needed to go inside it.

I've recreated the public_html folder, and moved your HTML page inside it. I've also named it "index.html", and your page is now loading, though some elements are missing.
