One last question... Would it be possible to remove exec() from the disable.functions list as well?
I understand if you like to keep it in for security reasons, but if you don't mind, it would help me.

Sorry, but we can't enable exec() on our free hosting service for security reasons. We do not offer shell access on free hosting.
