OK, I went ahead and forked over the money to buy myself a .net domain. I added the nameservers to my registrar and I added my domain to the parked domain section in the CPANEL. I type in my new domain and it takes me to my website. Perfect. However when I click on a link on my webpage my domain changes back to my subdomain with x10.

So I deleted the parked domain and instead tried to change my main domain to the domain I had bought, instead of x10s free domain. Will this fix that problem? If so: how long do I have to wait for my domain change to be approved?

Thanks very much ahead of time. I've been loving your service.

That should fix it, and far as I know the domain change is usually pretty fast. If it kicks back an error or anything though definitely post back to get it fixed! :)

Thanks for the quick response. I hope it fixes it. I'm a total newb with all of this stuff. So *knock on wood* and I hope to not have to come back to support haha.

Item is still pending . I was hoping to get my site launched tomorrow too. :/

Is this pretty typical? I've been pruning the support forum and haven't found a lockdown answer.

It's unusual, but it's now showing that as your main domain. Your CMS needs a settings change or something though; now all the links to the x10.bz domain are 404'ing out cause the other domain isn't there anymore >_<

Ahhh I see my domain change was approved....and now my site seems to have exploded :p.

I can visit my main website now through my purchased domain but all of the links inside of the website are still using my old x10 domain. Why is that? Any suggestions?

It's something with SMF; the SMF config still thinks you're on the old site. Wordpress and other CMS' have the same problem - see if you can find either a mysql setting via phpmyadmin that controls what it thinks the site is, or if it's a file. To be honest, you might be better off asking SMF or googling for it - I'm not familiar with how to change Wordpress's, let alone SMF's :(

This can be closed! I figured it out myself. I'm so happy I could dance :p.

What I did, for future reference, is go into my settings.php and changed the board URL there from my old one to my new one and that fixed everything!

Thanks a ton guys!
