Hi x10hosting support staff,

Thanks for providing free hosting.
I register a new site here named tigerby2.com

I already modified my A record from my domain manager to my shared IP
69.175.104.34

And I can ping it.

But 1:
When I go to tigerby2.com, I will be redirected to
http://tigerby2.com/cgi-sys/defaultwebpage.cgi

When I go to tigerby2.com/whatwedo.html,
it is 404 error

Thanks for your help.
David

The default site page shows when you first updated your domain. It can take up to 12-24 hours for the server to update main domain changes.

I am able to load tigerby2.com without any redirects right now.

Please clear your browser cache and DNS cache and try loading your page again.

Re: new site 'tigerby2.com', redirect to http://tigerby2.com/cgi-sys/defaultwebpage.c

Hi techairlines,

Thanks for the help. I tried to clear my cache and to use proxy but neither worked.

I changed the maindomain back to http://tigerby2.x10.mx/

And add a parked domain tigerby2.com to it.

Now it is working.

One more question, if I change my main domain to tigerby2.com,
is it a must that I need to change my name server to X10hosting ?
Or it is enough that I do a A record pointing to my X10hosting share IP.

THanks

Setting the A record is enough.

But realize that sometimes servers move and are given new IP's. If you suddenly find that your site cannot be reached, check the IP of your server (currently chopin.x10hosting.com ).

The advantage of using your host's nameservers is that the A record would be automatically updated if they change the IP of your server.
