Hello Users and Staff of x10,

I'm Mike, owner of the World of Bullcraft domain.
It's a website for our kennel (English Bulldogs and English Bullterriers).
The website is based on WordPress (and is in the process of major changes with a new theme that I want to customize to my needs).

Currently it's hosted at 000webhost for about 2 years, which is a reasonable good free hosting as far as my experience goes.
It has it's downtimes (specially the MySQL and email servers have had alot of issues) and there's a few other things that are limited with their free plan (like the file limit as in amount of files).

I'm currently in the process to look for a free host that has some of the features that I think I miss and a more stabile up-time on their services.

What I'm lacking at 000webhost is the possibility to connect to a SMTP server (like googlemail) to send emails out trough a php webscript.
000webhost doesn't allow for the port connection for SMTP to go trough the firewall (not on the free accounts at least).
phpmail() is too unreliable for this (not all the mails are send out, and you get flagged for spam very quick).

I wonder what the (hidden) limitations are with x10 if any.
Are there for example any requirements (alike 000webhost to login to the cpanel every x times to keep a account active, website or not) to keep account active.
I'm sure a few longtime users or staff members can have the answer to that.
So far I couldn't find anything yet, but then again I haven't really start searching for it.

So far my introduction.
I hope to find what I'm looking for...

Regards, Mike.

7. Inactivity
Accounts found to be inactive are suspended for a 14 day period and then removed from our servers (terminated). All data including any type of backup or stored information is removed with the account. To prevent an account from being suspended for inactivity it is required users visit the x10Hosting Account Portal located at https://x10hosting.com/portal/ at least once every 30 days. Accounts must have a working website within 1 week.

i think you can use php to connect to smtp on x10

That's pretty much the same with 000webhost, the login into the control panel for inactivity.
The connection trough php with a email server is a nice feature which is dearly missed currently with them.

If you are from Poland you cannot sign up for a free hosting account.

Ah, missed that part...
Well, a test with x10 will have to wait then.
I could ofcourse go trough all the trouble to use a proxy while signing up, but that would defeat the purpose.

Thanks and good luck, Mike.
