You may want to start slower than PHP, HTML is the best for beginners, then learn CSS so you can make excellent designs. PHP is more for server communications, scripts and sometimes it can be used for the frontend.

CSS and XML. roxx0rs. PWN0RS j00. lol i like CSS, it's easy to understand. but html gives you a "taste" of all of them in a way, they are pretty much interchangeable.
