I'm on a mission to make this more popular.

It is a very helpful tool. it is for Linux (Debian based) and Windows only! Sorry to the Mac OS users out there but you won't get get this.

Simple: You select which apps you want on the list, click install, run the installer and it will bulk install them.
If you run that same installer again, it will check all of the programs for updates and automatically download/install them.

Linux installer: http://ninite.com/linux/

Windows installer: http://ninite.com/

The reason I thought of this? Because of tools on there such as Filezilla, Notepad++, certain runtimes, python, etc.
Very helpful if you ever re-install your OS or are looking for more programs.

I've heard of this tool before in the past, but I have yet to use it still. It does sound like something that would come in handy for those constantly reformatting their machine, though! Since it already supports Linux, it could probably be ported to suit Macs rather quickly, though what would be the challenge is to find out what software is compatible with the Macintosh platform at that point.

I thought LINUX already did this ... I know my UNIX machine does and the LINUX machine my mother uses does as well

This tool is awesome. Been using it for the past couple months. Settings up new computers is a breeze. Saves a lot of time.
