OK to add local search engine script?

I'm considering adding a script to search only my website - no other content, and not even my WordPress content (which includes it's own search). Currently, I'm contemplating kSearch.

I've reviewed the TOS (http://x10hosting.com/terms) and believe it's OK - script runs locally, doesn't run continuously, directly related to my site, isn't warez . Am I correct, and is it allowed under Free Hosting?

Also, regarding "1GB" limit on image/video galleries: Does this limit apply to "galleries" (for example: http://unsolicited.elementfx.com/photog/galBRS11.html), or to all images and videos on the site regardless of where they are used? (eg: Icon on a page, image in a blog entry, etc.)

Yes, you can run a local search engine. Just be aware, though, that indexing takes time and memory, so if you have a large site outside of the WordPress install, you might not be able to run the indexer in the allowed script run time (30 seconds). I'm not familiar with kSearch's performance, so I can't give you an idea of how large a site (number of pages to be searched and the size of the page content) it would be able to index on a single run, nor can I tell you whether or not the indexing task can be segmented (to run on part of the site at a time). Such code is usually written to index only fresh content, so once the first run is complete, only new and updated pages should be indexed, and performance shouldn't be a problem.

As for images, "design" and "content" images do not usually count against the 1GB gallery limit. Keep in mind, though, that if you use a "content" context to try to get around the gallery limit, like if you were to create a "blog" that's really (and obviously) a photo gallery, you'll probably be called on it. "Content sized" images are generally 3 or 4 to the MB (250-350KB) if they're high-quality JPEGs (QF 90 or a "10" in Photoshop); there's rarely a good reason, outside of a portfolio, to put up, say, a full-sized image from a Nikon D800 as "content".

BTW: (a) I anticipated your concerns about kSearch and have already asked kSearch to clarify; (2) any galleries I'd post would be clearly such; and (c) why give away a full-resolution image when you can sell it? ;-)
