Opinions on an idea for a Website Needed

Me and a friend were considering starting up a website that would offer free web design/coding services. The plan is to do about 1-4 design/coding jobs every three weeks, and eventually build a list so we would always have work.

So basically people would get free site layouts, granted it may be slower than paying a designer but you can't expect lightening speeds for free. The design wouldn't be crap they would be done well, with the clients input. We also do have a plan worked out to monetize the service. So all that's really needed is a user base.

The question is - would you or someone you know be interested in this type of service? Consider the fact that some may have to wait up to a month for the final product.

custom software is always good. You should start by building a portfolio of empty websites that you can refer to when contacting potential clients. Next get known. You need exposure, because there are a lot of people in the design business. Finally, pick the right people. Most guys in tech community either personally (more or so) know a web designer, so they can either get good templates free or modify existing templates for free also.
