oscommerce mail

Hello.
I just installed oscommerce. The problem is, when i try to send mail to my costumers or when they sign in, I get error; Warning: mail() has been disabled for security reasons. Why is mail disabled ? Can you enable it?

You need to request an upgrade to Level 2 PHP (Intermediate), This can be done from inside AMP (http://x10hosting.com/login), Your login details will be the same as your forum account.
