Greetings from Ghana!

My name is Alex Akurgo, a former Special Asssistant at the Office of the President, Osu Castle, Accra. My party is out of government and now I'm trying to build a website to have something to do.

I wish to use this opportunity to thank you for your foresight.
I hope all of us come on board to eventually make your company the biggest ISP with a human touch.

The reason why I decided to join you:

1. Test your hosting service; and
2. Upgrade to paid customer with my own domain name.

So far all has gone well and your CPanel has been efficient. I have not yet loaded any of the blank posts and pages.

However, one problem cropped up a few minutes ago with some pages in my admin area failing to load. I got a server notice saying: "The page you are looking for is temporarily unavailable.
Please try again later."

What could be the cause?

My site is http://kkeke.x10.bz

Finally, if I have to pay for professional hosting, can I use Liberty Reserve (libertyreserve.com) to do the payments?

I am currently able to access your website with no difficulties.
As suggested by the error message you received this was very likely a temporary error which has been resolved.
Clear your browser cache and try again.
If you are still having difficulties post back and we will assist you farther.

Accra, 12.55 afternoon.

Hello Carl!

Thanks a million for the advice. I have been looking for the star at the bottom-left corner to click but I can't find it. I would have clicked a dozen times if it is permitted.

I cleared my cache as you suggested and the speed picked up a bit and then slowed to a halt again. It is afternoon here in Ghana and I suspect a peak period and my location may be the problem. Yesterday, it began to slow down at noon so could it be because of heavy server traffic (considering that I am using free hosting) - and my location? Perhaps I am too far away from the USA?

My website on completion, will mainly be accessed by mobile phones in Ghana here. The idea is to give the people the chance to post all sorts of articles, pictures, etc., about themselves and friends on kkeke.com. I am wondering whether this speed problem will be there if people begin to heavily use the website.

I will depend on your advice on caching some of the multimedia files - (our local musicians will like to post their audio and video clips).

We have over 4 million mobile phone users here - most of them using Android phones from China. Nokia comes in second and the rest follow.

Carl, once again, thanks and I hope to hear from you.

Meanwhile, those jokes were fantastic. I loved the one about the golf (goatf) caddy. At the end, I think the goat nearly made an impossible request - but thankfully "he" turned out to be a young lady.

And then that picture of the inquisitive goat with dinner in its mouth. I love it! (If I hadn't seen it, I would have become annoyed! But by grace, the alternative solution was at hand - 3 cups!!

There are other interesting things I want to talk about but I suppose the Forum has its rules. My email address is alexakurgo@yahoo.com.

CHEERS!

Carl,

I saw the star after posting my reply and its been done. Thanks again.
I have also been looking at other places for the reason why the slow down may
have occurred. A website loading test on http://tools.pingdom.com showed the
culprit - the mysterious error page in a temp directory somewhere.
I can't figure out what it is.

Also, I came across this article on why some WordPress sites suddenly become slow
and possible causes at: http://www.velvetblues.com/web-
development-blog/troubleshooting-slow-loading-wordpress-admin-panel/.

I remember l transfered some files using FileZilla and perhaps there may be some missing
links that are causing delays in loading. I will be checking that too - and of cause a few
plugins I added.

- Alex.
