I currently have a website at awpwx.org that is hosted with GoDaddy. The front page was made with Website Builder, which is offered from a different plan other than the one that offers FTP access. For this reason, I have chosen X10hosting to host my forums. However, I planned on making a forums.awpwx.org Subdomain with GoDaddy to make it go here. All the guides I see here are for domains and not subdomains.

Anyone here familiar with GoDaddy or can point me in the right direction to get my Subdomain parked here?

in short - a sub-domain goes with the domain

to use sub-domain [ forums.awpwx.org ] with your x10hosting's free-hosting account
you need to move (DNS) domain [ awpwx.org ] to your x10hosting's free-hosting account
then add the sub-domain [ forums ] to it in cPanel X3

or

*** if you have that sub-domain setup at GoDaddy - before you start this - delete it now ***
in your GoDaddy account go to [ Domains ]
check the box next to [ awpwx.org ]
mouse over [ Forward ] - near top of screen
select [ Forwarding Domains ]
in the pop-up - select tab [ Subdomain ]
select [ Add subdomain forwarding ]
in the pop-up - add [ forums ] at [ Subdomain ]
add your x10hosting's free-hosting account domain at [ Forward to: ]
click on [ Add ]
click on [ Save ]

did a test to a x10hosting's free-hosting account - only issue was - you can not have the sub-domain setup before you start
yes I am familiar with GoDaddy

To be honest, I'm not sure how this would work.
Usually you need the main domain to be set up on that host you're wanting the sub-domain to be on but the issue is that it can only be assigned to one host at a time.
As far as I know, you will need that added to be able to create a sub-domain. If you do add the sub-domain (which you can't unless you add unless you add the main one) then an other issue would be introduced where the main domain will have to be assigned to that same host you are wanting to use the sub-domain on.

I'm not a domain nor CPanel professional so hopefully there is a way to achieve this and someone would help you out with that.

Thankfully I have not set up the Subdomain yet. Thanks for the replies, I'll be on my computer soon to try to get it set up.

My goal in all of this was to keep the front page of awpwx.org separate from the forums - in the event one of them goes down I have the other. Also, hosting here is free, and you can't beat free. I already have to pay for Website Builder and awpwx.org with GoDaddy.

Hopefully I did everything right - http://forums.awpwx.org should forward to http://awpwx.x10host.com/

I assume I have to wait for DNS to update or flush the DNS Resolver Cache myself, right?

about 20:22 UTC
with URL [ http://forums.awpwx.org/ ] I get sent to URL [ http://awpwx.x10host.com/ ]
and 'see' --> "Alabama Weather Prediction Team" and other stuff

I assume that is what you are working for
Yes, this is exactly what I was hoping for!

The next thing I would like to do is, when navigating on the forums, I would like to show "forums.awpwx.org" instead of "awpwx.x10host.com". I tried editing the MyBB settings for this already but now all it's doing is putting an extra slash in the URL, haha.

in the pop-up - where it now says [ Forward only ] - select [ Forward with Masking ]
then fill in the three (3) boxes (each have a info icon)
after that
click on [ Edit ]
click on [ Save ]

somehow you did not get the edit...

be sure that you do --> in the pop-up - where it now says [ Forward only ] - select [ Forward with Masking ]

I had no issues with making edits

I forgot the final [Save] before. Everything is working great now. I really like how masking "keeps it the same all the time", haha. Thanks for your help!

I thought everything was set and I was getting ready to add some plugins. Now when I go to forums.awpwx.org or awpwx.x10host.com it's... a big mess.

this not a issue with the sub-domain forwarded from GoDaddy - the issue of this thread - nothing is changed in your x10hosting's free-hosting account [ awpwx.x10host.com ] by them

BUT something has changed in your x10hosting's free-hosting account [ awpwx.x10host.com ]
did you make any updates or add anything ?
you need to start a new thread - about this new issue
