Parked Domain using an A record?

Hello,

How do I park a subdomain using an A record?

I want to park status.mywebsite.com onto my x10hosting free account so that I can install Laravel Framework and use that. How do I setup an A record to do this instead of name servers?

With the setup we have for free hosting setting the name servers is required as a means to ensure that you do own the domain.
