PC specs for PCSX2

Sorry not sure if this is the right category to post this topic.

Anyone playing PCSX2 here?

I'm planning to build my new PC from scratch.

Can anyone tell me if i should go i7 or quad core?

don't want to settle for C2Duo, because i want a PC in a long term run.

I don't think PCSX2 is a multi-threaded application, it won't utilize more than one core.

In this situation, a higher clocked processor is better than more cores at a lower frequency.

Either way, it's still only a PS2 emulator and that's not going to hog nearly as many resources as modern PC games, so as long as you get something that can hold up to Crysis or even Source engine games you should be fine running PCSX2. I've got an overclocked Q6600 (OC'ed to 2.7 GHz) and an older 8800 GTS and I can still run things on high with a resolution of 1440x900.
