Take a look at this new thing from Microsoft.
Microsoft Live Labs: Photosynth

I got it to work on IE, but Firefox and Netscape weren't installing the plugin. If your computer is not "Vista Aero Ready" it might not work well.
I think it's neat. Think of the possibilities!

Is this showing something of the future of Microsoft?

Hey,

The plugin may not work well with browsers other than Internet Explorer, it's Microsoft's nature to develop for IE first. Trust me, I'm a Microsoft beta tester. The plugin is still in Labs so it is only just ready to be used, and is still a beta. A technology preview is Microsoft's way of getting the public to check it for bugs and help them fix these.
Give it time, the plugin will support other browsers soon!

Luke.

Strange then that their site does say :

  • Operating System: Only Windows XP SP2 and Windows Vista RC1 or later are supported at this time.
  • Web Browser: IE6, IE7, Firefox 1.5 and Firefox 2.0
So, if they only accept IE, then people like me can seriously complain when it states so clearly you can use FireFox or IE ...

What I meant was they focus on IE before other browsers.
Other browser will be supported by the time the software is completed.
Looks pretty promising so far though, better than using a simple html gallery
