PHP mail() not sending email (Vox AND Level)

The script I'm using is pretty straightforward--I wanted to test it before I used it on my registration system.

mail("xxx@gmail.com","This is a Test","Hi there! I am a test! ","From : Me");
?>

I tried it on my current site with Vox, and no luck. I then tried it with an old site on Level, and still nothing.

I tried both Gmail and Ymail (Yahoo! mail).

So what's up?

I ran a Email test PHP script on the three (3) free-hosting servers and a Premium server [ s1 ]

The free-hosting servers would send mail to their self - where it was read - but not to any other Email server

The Premium server would send mail to its self - and to Email accounts on the three (3) free-hosting servers - and to a gmail.com Email account - where they were read

SMTP server for the three (3) free-hosting servers has a 'issue' with sending Emails to 'other' servers

And will this issue be fixed soon? This was not an issue before, if I may add, but this is relatively recent from the newer threads that I've just seen.
