PHP upgrade to support joomla version 1.5

Hi i am currently on the free hosting account have uploaded my website and i am recieving the errror
Warning: strpos() [function.strpos]: Empty delimiter in /home/scottm/public_html/libraries/joomla/environment/uri.php on line 162 which seems to be linked to the fact that the php version currently in use is php 3.24.
Is it possible to upgrade the php version to version 5 to resolve this issue.

x10hosting is running php version 5.2.12

This might be a problem with your script.
