PHPBB style

Hi I just want to know if any one have any ideas about how to create my own style.
Please I need first the way in how to make my style ,then a good idea.
Note my forum will be about IT skills and Internet.

styles are ultimately just html files and css sheets and the associated images
perhaps start with a style you sort-of like in terms of layout and tweek the css sheets/images to tailor it to your liking?
edit: at the very least i would reccomend looking at an existing style to get an idea of the structure of the html files/css sheets and how they are tied together and build from that
