Hi, I was just trying to see if php safe mode was on or off (I need off to install "CMS Made Simple" cms)

In my account control panel it has my php version listed as:

5.2.8 Version 1 - Basic

Ok, now in the Knowledge base it says:

NOTE: We are not currently using the Basic/Intermediate/Advanced PHP system. All accounts are currently using PHP Intermediate, and there is no way to upgrade.
Now, there is definitely an innaccuracy if I'm on basic, and all accounts are supposed to be using intermediate....

Even in basic mode, the most basic php function is phpinfo() and when i try that i get:

Warning: phpinfo() has been disabled for security reasons in /home/*******/public_html/phpinfo.php on line 2

Anyone shed some light on this?

Thanks.

Ignore what it says on the account control panel.

We have disabled phpinfo() because it's a security risk.

Ok....So I do i find out if safe mode is on or off?

Also, if im supposed to ignore this, then what else am i supposed to ignore or not? How am i supposed to know anything when i am told to check account panel for information, and then im told to ignore the information?!

How in the world do i know what php functions im allowed to use?! There is not a list on the knowledge base....

There are a few things still a bit in limbo after the recent server upgrades, & before the new site make-over happens. Please see the News section for details of current changes & future plans.

But - Most info is accurate.

It hasn't been answered because the people reading this thread don't know any more than you have already been told.

Sorry if you don't like that.

And I've been told the same things i already knew i.e.
We have disabled phpinfo() because it's a security risk.

(that was in my original post, if i didnt know that then this thread wouldnt be here would it?)

So, if the people posting dont know any more than i do, then i cant help but wonder why they are posting answers (that dont answer anything)....

Sorry if you don't like that.

You're getting quite offensive now.

You were either given new info, or had confirmed to you what you were asking about.

How you would expect anyone to want to help you in future, after your attitude here, I don't know.

LOL... a very disturbing attitude indeed... knowing that we're all using their services for free... why don't we repect them the way they should be respected for giving out free services... xD

May i ask how i'm being offensive by replying in the same manner you are?

In my opinion posting an answer saying:

It hasn't been answered because the people reading this thread don't know any more than you have already been told.
is a pointless post, it is along the same lines of posting "i dont know"....

and when you posted:

Sorry if you don't like that.
that seems quite condescending and offensive.

So, I'm sorry if I didn't feel your posts where helpful in any way, and that offends you. A simple solution I can see would be to not post if you dont have the answer, instead of posting that no one that has read the thread yet knows the answer.

It was not my intention to offend anyone, and if by stating my opinions and explaining them in full has in some way offended someone then i apologise that was not my intention. However I must plead that if you dont have some actual relevant information rather than "read the news page" or "I don't know the answer", then please do not post.

I said "It hasn't been answered because the people reading this thread don't know any more than you have already been told."

because you were saying "ROFL!!! For the third time, please how can i find out if safe mode is on or off?!?!"

so it was a valid answer, to someone who seemed to think that people were ignoring his question, when we weren't. Just because you don't like the answers you are getting, doesn't mean they are the wrong ones. Sometimes a question just can't be answered definitively.

Simple solution: I'm adding you to my ignore list.

Yeah, well you are an idiot, whining because your ego is hurt. Go ahead and add me to your ignore list you douche bag, you are a retard and if you hadn't posted here in the first place you wouldn't look so stupid.

By the way i dont care what happens to this post/thread/account so you can reply saying what ever you want (which im sure will still be useless information), ban my account, do whatever makes you feel better, im done with trying to deal with this half ass hosting anyways.

Well since this thread has degraded to a point where it cannot function any longer I will be closing it and handing out infractions where needed.

Closed.
