the rearm trick only works 3 times, that one is perfectly legal.

I have a friend that's been using it for years now, since he's too afraid of a real crack possibly screwing up his data. Maybe we're thinking of different cracks?

Ooo, sorry, I don't know the name, since only my friend uses it. I'm only familiar with Paradox's crack (I know some members of it, that's why I learned of it ^^).

I'm thrilled to be talking about this on X10...but is this conversation somewhat....against the rules? =P

just as any company that manufactures software says it is of high security and cant be cracked etc

i suppose almost every software i have is a cracked copy
for instance on this pc im on now there is a cracked Windows XP SP2 which is legitimate copy by cracking it i have no bother using it and no troubles with the activation
also on my other PC i got Vista Ultimate whch is a cracked copy and its acctually had the stuff removed from the cd/dvd as when its installed there no need to activate it
once again AVG 7.5 yea they catch all those using a pirated licence key but there is always at least a few keys which they dont find (me for example) mine is a cracked copy with illegal licence and works fine and updates every day with no problems

SO.... the verdict really is that no software n the whole software world cant be cracked hackers and crackers are always 1 step ahead of developers

lol nice long post but ah well... :D

It's ridiculous to say that Vista won't be pirated. The truth is that every software program can eventually be cracked and will be if it is of significant popularity. These anti-piracy features are a cheap gimmick to get Wall Street to raise the price of Microsoft stock. Nobody ever said that the people who decide stock prices are very smart, because they aren't (otherwise, they wouldn't feel the need to throw CEOs of bankrupt companies in jail because they wouldn't have over-rated their stock prices to begin with). The secret about Wall Street is that you should invest in a stock right before the launch of a big product and sell the stock before that big product flops, shocking Wall Street. Wall Street actually increased Coca-Cola's stock price when they introduced New Coke and they are going to or already have increased Sony's stock price for today's release of the Playstation 3, which is doomed to fail miserably because they've doubled the price from what the first 2 Playstations launched at and nobody in their right mind will pay $600 for a game system.
I have to disagree. Although everything is crackable they will eventually make a Validator for Vista to receive updates. Sooner or later without updates pirated copies of Vista with have no value. It will be a while until a crack comes out to bypass the validator when ever it is released. Maybe it's coming with the next service pack. I believe Microsoft Office 2007 is doomed.

All Softwares Can Be Cracked. It Depends on the skill of the person who is decoding the crack. Like Adobe Photoshop CS3, it can be crack.
Edit:
I also cracked Adobe Photoshop CS3 Myself.

Slothie's right =] I'd know. On top of that, Vista's CD CAN be copied perfectly. Serials never work the moment the OS connect to the internet...but the OEM trick from Paradox is successful. There is also a crack that has to be used every 3 months that resets the activation timer.

I hope that one wasn't mentioned already. Sorry, Microsoft, the hacking community has defeated you again =P

I've heard of the three month activation extension on the Windows Secrets newsletter from a long time ago. Wasn't that so that people could fully try Vista before they buy it?

Yes, but there is supposed to be a limit. A crack team make one that works as many times as you want.

i have a crack for windows xp and it allows the user to generate a completely legitimate cd key and you even install the windows genuine advantage tool. it passes all checks and you can use it for anything. it great the best thing ive ever found.

i think people misunderstand how piracy protection works. sure vista might have unique cd keys to every copy which would be impossible to crack unless someone can hack Microsoft servers and enter there own key :p. all the crack does it work on the back end of the protection. editing the hard code some of the thousands of files and registry entries that exist in any software. this takes time but it always can be done.

to all the hackers and crackers out there i love you for all your work. but hey with out piracy i would say that about 60% of the world would not be using windows or any other product and thats a massive loss of potential market and big software company's know it. if people really like the software that they use they will buy it because the piracy market rarely ever goes beond a non personal use market.

But using pirated software can cause severe penalties from the company...

If it's software (and more than three people are interested in it), it will be cracked. That's my philosophy.

what about the people who cannot afford to pay $300+ for Vista?, and only get ONE key that (if like XP) you can only reinstall the OS 3-4 times before you have to contact MS to pay for a new key. MS should just make OS's around $100 no more, then people may be more opted to buy it instead of download it and crack it. I understand how the company losses from piracy, but untill the prices drop it won't stop me.
