Placing ads on phpbb

Hi , im not a total utter noob at php n stuff , so i tried to add the ads myself to php bb first , so i added it first to the overall header of the template , then the overall footer , but it both didnt work , so i thought of including it:
include('ads.inc'); and a file with the ads code in the same folder named ads.inc with php tags n stuff , but it still didnt work .
so i thought to search the forums but none of the solutions worked...
help....

There should be no problems adding it to the overall_header.tpl file, right at the very top after the opening php tag. That should work for you.
