Plane hit buidling: Today in NYC

Hey guys, today my dad was in a building on the 49th floor in New York City, New York for a conference. He was supposed to come home tonight at 7:00. He looked out his window and saw a small private jet flying straight towards him...it hit the building next to him on the 50th floor. He was on floor 49. He called us as we were driving to get our hair cuts and said he didn't hear anything. He got so lucky...its not even funny.

The plane was not from a terrorist attack, it was a small private jet owned by the Yankees. The suspected pilot was the main pitcher for the Yankees baseball team, when something went wrong with the controlls. His passport was found on the street below the building. The building did not collapse. Only 3 passengers in the plane died.


Oops! I almost forgot to ask the question: Do you think it was an attack or do you believe the media, telling us that it was an accidental thing?

Only 3 were in the plane...all dead. :'( I don't know about the building but I think a lot. It was a highrise skyscraper in New York the building was.

It seems to be an accident to me the article on yahoo news says that the pilot has only had his license for a short time.

my thoughts on this: definitely an accident, as the President and his administration do not have control over the media, and if it was a terrorist attack, the pres. couldn't stop the media from telling everybody it was a terrorist attack............so no it's just an accident

Thats what I think too...my dad called and said he would be home tonight about 11:00 or 11:30, he said it was definitely not a terrorist attack. That was the only jet and a terrorist attack would have been much more severe and more worse ...check the pic:

Ooh! I just realized that it happened on October 11th. Exactly ONE MONTH after the 9/11 5th year rememberance. That would be scary, they had S.W.A.T. Police on the scene and they blocked off the building. There were firetrucks and ambulances (no need for an ambulance, both people in the plane were killed on impact/ignition. Fried.) Luckily there was noone in the condo at the time of the crash, they didn't say where the family was though. And the plane did not even penetrate the building, it fell to the ground and they found the wreckage in the fallen debri.

Back on topic, yes this was an accident; in fact the plane was piloted by the pitcher for the New York Yankees if any of you have read. Also, it was registered to him, and there are unconfirmed reports of a distress signal sent by that plane..

Actually, (if you read at all), there WERE confirmed reports that there was a fuel problem. I just don't see how this could lead to the crashage of it. Fuel <=> Airplane, Fuel <=> Airplane...I just don't see it. And yeah, duh it was registered to him. I allready said that...

No. There were families living in the condos, not all of them, but there were several. Noone was in the condo where it crashed when it crashed.

You don't see how a fuel problem can lead to a crash? Fuel leak / preignition could easily result in engine failure and ultimately a crash..
