Check the cursing at the door, or you're not going to get the appropriate level of help. With a few exceptions, we're all volunteers.

First and foremost, Social Engine 4 isn't free. Did you purchase a license?

Having the line <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;url=/"> in the error page is asking for trouble.

The error message gives zero information. It could be a 500 error, a database problem, any thing. Contact the makers of the script and ask them how to trouble shoot the problem.

It's a bigger problem that Social Engine's webpage says the source to the trial is encrypted. I downloaded the trial - my code is encrypted in several key files. Yours is not, which indicates yours is not a trial install.

I have a ticket open with Social Engine to confirm the legitimacy of your install and will update you when I receive more information from them.

Edit: I'm also guessing the problem is permissions from what I saw while investigating the install, however that's going to be a moot issue until we confirm it's a legally licensed Social Engine install. A bigger concern is his own index is missing the part that checks if it's a trial, which the trial -should- have.

How did you get Social Engine 5? 4's the latest version.

If you didn't download it from social engine, it is likely an illegal install and will result in a permanent suspension if Social Engine tells me you don't have a license for the script.

I've said it before, I'll say it again. Always, ALWAYS download direct from the developer ONLY. It's the only true way to avoid being caught with illegal software, which we can't overlook.

I find no link to download anything there. They link to the official site.

Social Engine has replied and confirmed you do not have a license for your domain. As such, this is now a permanent suspension that cannot be revoked. I do apologize that there's been some confusion over the script, but if you don't do research you won't find the right host. In the case of social engine, just googling it brought it up as result #1.
