I am particularly interested in a simple way to play background music in other browsers besides IE. Thanks. WIXY Rick.

You might want to give people a link to your site if you want them to review it. Just a thought.
Another thought is to forget about background music, even in IE. That is the quickest way to get people to hit the back button. It's one thing to play media on demand, but to have somebody's computer start making sounds they weren't expecting is evil -- they might have been listening to some tunes on their media player while browsing, they may be up late at night when everyone else is sleeping, they may just want a bit of quiet for a change... there are a whole lot of situations in which sound wouldn't be appreciated. It is the user, not you, who should be deciding when music is played.
