This is a letter from my daugher:
Hi, my name is Caitlind and I'm a high school student. I fell in love with Anime shows when I was very young. For the past 10 years, I've been watching Anime, reading Manga and drawing Anime characters - it's become such a large part of my life. I've even been studying Japanese 3 times a week during my lunch hour at school so I can understand the shows that aren't translated.
My dream has always been go to Japan to learn more about the people and their culture, because I find them so amazing. My dream is to become an artist and draw Anime and maybe even create new shows.
I applied for a student cultural exchange program to study for a year in Japan, but really didn't think I had much chance of being accepted. I just found out a few weeks ago that I WAS ACCEPTED. I can't believe it! It would be a dream come true to be able to go, but the only way I can, is if I raise enough money for the trip.
I would like to offer anyone who want to help me a beautiful sketch that I would make specially for you. You can see an example of one here. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&item=270308699046
Even though the sketches I draw mean the world to me, I am willing to use them for my fundraising, so that I can go. With your help, I could one day be a famous artist and these sketches could be worth lots and lots of money
I can draw different characters from Anime shows like Sailor Moon, Sakura, Pokemon for you if you prefer.
Here's a quote I saw a long time ago, I don't know who said it, but I love it:
Magic has often been thought of as the art of making dreams come true; the art of realizing visions. Yet before we can bring birth to the vision we have to see it.
