Hi! My hosting account got suspended for this
"Hacking material and unmitigated spam from users selling credit card details, zt permanent. The spam in question has been present since early april."

I am unaware of what have happened in past 1 month..My laptop was out of order..and i was just busy with my college annual project and function. I am absolutely sorry for whatever thing that happened..
I was unaware of threads or posts on forum.. I haven't posted since 1 and half month..

I know some spammers used to visit and post some non sense.. i used to delete that member's profile along with all posts and threads whenever i come across such stuff.... they were all posting about some logins, accounts,etc.. i have deleted about 5 to 6 such profiles..
i also found same post on many different forums..and communities.. they are using like some sort of software which spins their usernames and signature..

Please unsuspend me.. i assure such kind of things will not be tolerated in near future. There was no single post/thread about cracking, warez, piracy, etc there.. only there were posts which helped others to secure their resources..(after one incident, i decided not to spare those loosers, that's why i created and shared some valuable knowledge).

Please unsuspend my account, it was absolutely not my fault..i will ensure that the member's registration is checked manually..

Thanks..

Hello,

Unfortunately, you are responsible for all of the content on your site. As the suspension reason said, this has resulted in a permanent suspension of your account under our zero tolerance policy.
You do have the right to dispute the suspension. If you'd like to do this, please let us know and I can ask someone more senior for their standpoint on the issue. For now, we have to follow the guidelines on enforcing the terms of service, which say that you are responsible for the content, as I said before.

Thanks.

thanks stpvoice for fast reply..
yes i am responsible for all of the content on my site.. but it's very very difficult to constantly monitor the spammers 24*7.. they are filling all forums over internet with their automated software.. Unfortunately there is no way to filter their registration, what i can do is delete his profile along with all his spammy threads and posts..
Please..help.. i haven't done that purposely..

Thanks

Hello,

I'll ask someone to assess your case. Please note that in the future you could use a strong anti-spam system, such as a CAPTCHA or security question. Also, don't allow guests or bots to post.

Thanks.

The hacking material alone is a ZT; the fact that a user on our service was under attack by bots that have been spamming ways to buy credit card numbers IN BULK for the last month and a bit is unacceptable. This is the sole reason why one should have moderators or disable the forums if there's no time to go back and check it for spam.

Given the information being traded and how long it was there with no mitigation attempts visible, I'm not able to unsuspend this as there are several major TOS and AUP violations, including "is defamatory or violates a person's privacy;" for the cc sales, which is a bad one.

there is no single post about hacking material.. so how it's a ZT?. Lots of forums have been spammed by these peoples.. what i can really do is just delete their profile along with their threads and posts, I've done this in past 10 to 15 times. That's the only way, to prevent spam.

I'm not positive I remember seeing this particular site before it was suspended; the problem I'm -really- having with it is the unmitigated bot-spam. Early april's about 4 weeks ago - you're telling me in 4 weeks no one bothered to actually check their forum for spam?

And you've had problems with spam before and didn't check in?

I can get that your laptop was down and you were busy, but too busy to spare a cursory 2 minute glance to see spam that was several weeks old? Spam that violates the acceptable use policy for x10hosting as well? Even if every system in my house were to break down I could still go to a friends house and use their internet for a moment, or the local library, or one of the local net-cafes. Granted, in my case, this would require the total and complete meltdown of 2 desktop computers and 2 laptops/netbooks, but still.

The reason it's ZT is because of how long the spam was present. Personally, I try to avoid suspending for spambots until we look at the timeframes involved - I know people can't be expected to check their site daily, even if I do. But not bothering to check it even once in a month? Especially with the kinds of things that were being spammed, which involved HIGHLY illegal activities that even the most fleeting glance of would scream "BAN ME," I can't see it. I just can't see how it wasn't checked once over the period of a month, when it's your job as a forum administrator to monitor for spambots and remove them when they appear. Even a check once a week could've avoided this.

Edit: Can you explain why there's also topics entitled "How to start hacking?" complete with an editorial review of how best to start hacking?

Heres some other choice excerpts.

]Here is the pure technique of remote administration on your computer system using Telnet, this tool uses server resources rather than computer system resources. This is effective tool to administrate remotely on your computer system. Only requirement is that the victim and you should be connected to internet.
Victim? Bad choice of words if it's not hacking, that's for sure.

One of my personal favorites I've found though involves the very first post in the "Mobile Software and Applications" board. You see, in that package which is linked from a file host, I can see two applications that are not free included -for free- in said package. The first is Total Recall 2.1.1, which costs $10. The other is PowerMovie 1.1.57, which is $20. I'm sure if I felt like looking through the other 33 in the list I'd find others that aren't free (My next guess would be Symantec Antivirus for phones), but this is a MAJOR concern. You've got warez being posted on the forums!

Gets worse, I did one final dig.

The poster of the warez is user ID 1, Group ID 1. The administrator of the board. This one's definitely permanent, even moreso than before.

"How to start hacking?" this refers to this defination . Now is there any instance of cracking, nullifying, phishing, spamming ,etc in it.? We were using the actual definition of the term "hacking", and not the media or TV justification of that term..

btw the thing which you are telling is not warez, the link is pointing to trial package, there is nothing like keygen or patch included in it..

And sir, from april 18 my site was suspended due to high system resource usage, you can check it..
I haven't really got time to check the spam, i remember that i've deleted his profile and 1 spam post saying buy cc accounts, etc. in the same month, but i didn't remember when, also i don't know whether the spammer came back and posted the same stuff..

They have very very bad tool called Xrumer, it's beast, which can automatically create thread, resolve captcha, use proxies, spin username, articles.. it can spam each and every forum in internet including smf, phpbb, mybb,vb and lot more..

Did they also post a different topic that contained warez way back in august of 2010?

There's a topic back then involving links to Avatar for mobile ($3 from the developer, http://www.gameloft.com/mobile/avatar/ ), Resident Evil Degeneration ($4.99 recurring or $9.99 unlimited), and Lost Planet 2 ($3 from developer, http://www.gameloft.com/mobile-games/lost-planet-2/ ).

I'm getting tired of having to say it, but here we go again. This is a -permanent- suspension. It cannot be removed for any reason.

As such, this topic is now closed. Period.
