Hi everyone.

Now I know this has been discussed a few places on the forum, and somehow I still don't quite get it.

I have added the nameservers ns1.x10hosting.com and ns2.x10hosting.com to my domain name registrar. So let us say I have a subdomain with you as: http://myexample.x10hosting.com And with the registrar I have bought www.myexample.com.

Don't I need to now also say www.myexample.com points to a specific IP address (namely the subdomain http://myexample.x10hosting.com)? I pinged my subdomain on x10hosting.. and when I goto that IP address in firefox, I get http://x10hosting.com/?r=cossacks_htdocs (which effectively shows the x10hosting homepage). That doesn't seem right.

Could someone please help me make the penny drop?

thanks.

I don't think you need to do anything with an IP address - I think now you've done the nameservers you need to add your domain in the cPanel.

You can park your domain in your cpanel, there is also the option to make your primary domain myexample.com in your account management: http://x10hosting.com/account
