I was too late adding the poll - SORRY.

There are many ways to measure the success of a website. Some people measure by the income it provides, while some may measure by how many visitors it attracts. Maybe it's just the pride of doing something you never thought you could do, or the fact your peers like what you have done.

Accomplishment and popularity, because if it isn't popular, it isn't really getting your message out there that you worked long and hard to put into a website.

Accomplishment and Popularity is very important for a site to thrive and without both of the 2 you probably won't be able to get much if any income from the website.

You need to feel proud in the website you made. If you don't feel proud in it, getting users will be really hard.
If no one visits your website, there really isn't much of a point to running it.

Popularity. If your purpose is to make an impact with your site, the more people visiting the more of an impact you will make, and therefore the more successful you are being at your goal.

Accomplishment and Popularity.

If you have nobody visiting your site, you aren't accomplishing what you are trying to do. Income isn't important. Many people run non-profit sites that are successfull and well-managed. But success is important to running a website!
