Port 25

Hello,

So I am using ElasticMail to send mail (as x10 Webmail no longer sends the mail. Most likely because so many users abuse it to phish, and Google blocked it). I've setup all the TXT records and stuff and have verified it works because I sent a test email to myself.

Only problem I am having is XenForo is not connecting to SMTP. I know it works as I used Google to connect to it, so I think my webhost server does not have port 25 open.

Can someone verify for me if Port 25 is open or not? If not, how can I go about getting it opened. Thanks.

I assume you have a use ID for XenForo - it is a paid for CMS - [ https://xenforo.com/purchase/ ] - the Admin will need to see it

if it is not open you can NOT get it open

"if it is not open you can NOT get it open" and if that's the case, x10Hosting truly is horrendous as they are blocking the most commonly used ports that 99% of Web Hosts have open by default.

I assume you have a "nulled" copy of Xenforo ( https://xenforo.com/purchase/ ) that might be your issue

I don't have a Nulled XenForo. It worked before, back when I used x10 Webmail (admin@____.com) and then admin@___.com stopped sending emails, so I switched to ElasticEmail, and the SMTP connection refuses (Because for some reason, x10 thought it would be a good idea to close Port 25).

Might get someone who knows what their doing to help me this time :^)

It's really not that hard. I moved all the files from x10 to XenoNode, aswell as exported the database and imported it on XenoNode, but when trying to access it, I just got blank pages, so don't know what I did wrong. I made sure to change config.php aswell.

But this is totally off-topic to my thread.

edit: You have blown this thread way off topic. All I asked was is 'Port 25' open on x10 Web Servers, not if XenForo is my issue. And if you don't know if Port 25 is open or not, stop commenting on my thread, thanks.

Can someone who knows what they're talking about actually give me an answer?

To my knowledge, we only allow users to send mail via the built-in functions, not via SMTP due to the way blacklistings work - if your install is sending spam via SMTP, it traces to our IP address, which will cause problems.

I can't confirm 100% that this is what's occuring in your case however, as there is no hosting account linked to this forum username. I however was able to find an account that was logged into via the same IP address used to make the post, which was indeed running a nulled XenForo install, which certainly wouldn't help matters since nulled versions do sometimes have errors in the software as a result of attempting to prevent being detected.

Assuming that wasn't your account however, you'll need to reply from the account that has the software installed so we can analyze further, including checking the email logs to see if the emails were possibly being rejected on our end without actually being sent, which we do to prevent blacklistings.

external [ SMTP ] is blocked on x10hosting's free-hosting servers
all Email must go out through outbound spam filters on 10hosting's SMTP server - to be scanned for spam and phishing and other test - messages with no body content - and HTML-only mail (mail with no plain text part) - and messages with no subject - and messages that just say "Testing" (or like that) - and anything else that looks "spammy" (as far as the outbound mail filters are concerned) will be silently discarded - or sometimes the transfer to the SMTP server fails - you will not receive any notice when it fails
